First off, I wanna start off by saying that i don't think this information is in any way misleading. I am yet just another woman who is having a terrible experience with depo. I took the shot in may of 2005 per the advice of my doctor. I have a small fibroid tumor in my uterus that use to make my menstral cramps really painful, so he told me that the shot would be beneficial because it would stop my period. WRONG!!!!! I was on my normal period when i took it because my doctor told me that i'm supposed to take the shot within the first 5 days of my period. my cycle is normally 6 days so i took the shot on the 4th day of my period. well that period went away as normal. BUT....when it started again the third week of june I bleed all the way until the beginning of october. that 3 1/2 months!!! I thought I was gonna die! during that time not only was i bleeding heavily for 3 1/2 months, I had migranes, back pain, high blood pressure, leg cramps, facial hair that i never had before depo, i gained 15 lbs, I was always tired even when i got a full nights sleep, i was constantly dizzy and nausiated and my vision was blurred often. The bleeding finally went away at the begining of october so i had some relief. but it returned again at the end of october. it stayed until the begining of dec then went away again only to return on dec 23rd and i have been bleeding since!! most of my symptoms have since subsided but i'm still bleeding and cramping bad. occasionally i still have bad headaces and dizziness. but i'm still annoyed by this whole thing. I know every woman reacts differently to this drug and i'm not tryna scare anybody, but reading these posts from all of these women i found that for every 1 woman who loves this drug, there are about 10 women who hate it. Now i don't care what anybody says, and i don't care how much you like depo, there's no way you can argue with those statistics! and this is not the only message board like this. there are plenty of them and a good 95% percent of the women on those board hate depo as well. I did some research on this poison and one site said that 75% of women who take depo for the first time DON'T return for their second shot. that's more than half! and going by all of my symptoms from this, all of these countless other women, and statistics like that, i will not be taking this shot again!!! So if you are a woman who likes this drug, then i'm happy for you. I guess you guys were the lucky ones. Do whatever works for you. But for me I HATE IT!! and i agree with all the women who hate as well... >:
